Timothy Henry has 18 years of consulting experience working closely with Senior Executives to define and address their business and leadership challenges. He has extensive experience in working with individual leaders, and with leadership teams, to develop practical approaches for the execution of their company’s strategy and to coach them on how to effectively lead such change efforts. 

Timothy brings a strategic business perspective to his coaching work. His expertise and experience covers the complete process for executing strategic change in an organization; the clear articulation and alignment of an executive team and organization around a strategic direction; the development of execution plans and accountability for results; and the development of the leadership skills (and one-on-one coaching) required to effectively lead strategic change.

 

Examples of Recent Assignments

§         For the marketing division of a large Oil and Gas company worked closely with the President to merge different parts of the business following a recent wave of mergers and acquisitions (three major mergers over 3 years).  Issues focused on clarifying the strategy implementation plan, building greater organizational buy-in to the new direction for the firm and ensuring organizational readiness to execute the new plan. This also included working individually with the top 70 managers to build personal leadership development plans to lead the change in the new organization. In addition, he worked as a personal coach to several of the Senior Management Team members to help assist and reinforce the focus on new leadership behaviors.

§         For a leading global chemical company, worked closely with the CEO and Senior Management team to develop a large-scale transformation program. The organization was matrixed across 8 SBUs in Europe, Asia and The Americas.  The goal of the work was to create a transformation framework that aligned the various SBUs and geographies while allowing room for individual business and geographic differences. Coached Senior Managers on leading the change effort and on new leadership requirements to make the change stick.

§         Worked with the Senior Leadership team at a Regional Telecom Provider to develop a Balanced Scorecard Management System. This included close coaching with the CEO and the HR organization on the design of the executive compensation system and its integration with Balanced Scorecard Management System.

 

Education and Consulting Background

Mr. Henry has an MA from Oxford University in Philosophy, Politics and Economics with a specialty in International Economics. He also has a BA from the University of Southern California in Biology and Psychology.

His consulting experience includes nine years with Booz Allen and Hamilton in their New York and Tokyo offices; five years with the start up consulting firm that originated the Balanced Score Card concept, Renaissance Solutions, this included an IPO and several acquisitions; and four years as a co-founder of the change management firm, Emergence Consulting.
